This will be driven through a set of well defined and relevant policies and careful planning as well as continuous research. SPAD’s 20-year master plan for the national and regional level is currently undergoing development by the division and will be ready by September 2011. Its primary objectives are to build a strategic plan, research capacity and recommendations thus ensuring the holistic development of public transport throughout the nation. Through the master plan, SPAD will have a range of initiatives, from short to long term, to fulfill public transport needs. Early deliverable will be National Public Transport Policy and Greater Kuala Lumpur / Klang Valley Public Transport Master Plan. The master plan will be reviewed periodically and be expanded to other regions and industrial sectors within SPAD’s scope.
